Happy Black History Month!
We are into our 4th week of second instrument choice. The students are doing great and the 4th graders are getting a nice break from band on Fridays. Thank you for allowing your students to try a second instrument in the band. This will hopefully further fuel the passion for music as they move on to 6th grade. As you know it takes full family support to ensure your student thrives in music at this stage in their development. I wanted to remind you that it is a requirement that your child take weekly lessons on their first instrument.
If you have fallen off track with this please get back on to ensure your child can keep up with the class. Your child should be sitting down 3 days a week for 10-20 minutes of timed practice. They should work on scales from page 40 and materials from private instructors.
We will play music to highlight Black History Month and Chinese New Year. When the music and weather are all clear we will have a few performances on 4th street. Please stay tuned!
