Concert Band Town Hall and Juries 2024

 Hello Concert band,

Concert Band 2023/24

Black History Month.

I'm so excited for the weeks and months ahead. We have so much amazing music and performances to look forward to. Santa Cruz Jazz Festival to Yoshis we are a very blessed community. Concert band will be performing The "Work Song" at Town Hall either this week or next week depending on how rehearsals go.  Stay tuned!

This week:

Concert Band Juries are happening Thursday March 7th from 3:15-6:15p. Students will be evaluated by an advanced band member on their major scales; accuracy, tempo and tone, sight-reading and songs (see performance requirements below). This will determine if the student is ready to perform with the band at Yoshis and other big events coming up. Performance Requirements:

1- Major Scales -1 Octave in All Keys  (F, Bb, Eb,  Ab, Db, Gb/F#,  B, E, A, D, G, C) 

use a metronome!

2- Sight read from book #1 and 2 (teacher choice)

3- Play your Part - "The Work Song" By Nat Adderley
